A Tip About Comparing Lenders

Comparing lenders is deeper than just comparing rates. Luckily, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau standardized a simple loan comparison tool. 

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) designed the Loan Estimate as a tool to provide an “apples-to-apples” comparison of estimated closing costs among lenders. It is based on information which is specific to you, your desired property and your financial situation. The best way to compare lenders at the same interest rate is to obtain an official Loan Estimate from each lender and compare the “Estimated Closing Costs” at the bottom of page 1.
